TRADITIONAL CHINESE MARKETS TO VISIT IN BANGKOK

We all know as Bangkok,the capital of Thailand is famous tourist attraction. In Bangkok, Chinatown(District:- Samphantawong) is the premier attraction for the tourist who are interested for shopping in traditional markets to enjoy the taste of uniqueness and quality.

Before starting the List of top picks to visit while in Chinatown : The warning : Beware of spam i.e Fake products and overpricing. Lets continue with market list :-

1) Sampeng Lane Market : This everyday market(closes after 6pm) is located in Sampeng Lane parallel to Yaowarat road. It is congested like maze but also the cheapest market of the city. Here you can buy fabric,clothes,electronics,fruits,cosmetics etc on very less rates with enjoying the taste of local street food like fish cakes,barbequed pork, mango rice etc.

2) The Old Siam Plaza : This three storey building ,is located on Phahuratam Road,we can call it “Hidden Gem” ,as tourist and young generation prefers to visit mega malls these days. It is famous for Thai food and Thai silk.

3) The Nightingale-Olympic Building : This oldest, strangest mall look like living museum is located on Pahurat road. You can find and buy vintage items in good condition over here .Items from 90’s like sports equipment, musical instruments and cosmetics can be easily found over here.

4) Itsaraphap Lane : It is located next to Leng Noi Yee Temple,the most important Chinese temple in Thailand. In this narrow street you can find dry goods like nuts ,herbs and spices.

5) Klong Thom Market: The Saturday evening market which is also known as “Flashlight market” as you need flash to see goods in dark is famous for electronic goods and clothing.It is located on Worachak and Chao Kamrop road.

6) Phahurat Market : Famous as “Little India”, the best attraction is the “Sikh temple Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara”. In this market due to large number of Indian community you can find Indian Traditional items like artwork,clothes,fabric etc. You can also find second hand electronics goods here.

7) Talat Saphen Lak : As per local beliefs it is certain that due to non payment of custom duty, you can save upto 40% on store price. Located in Iron Bridge market, you can go for software, pirated videos and many more other things.

8) Talat Kao : This cheap fruit market is the part of Itsaraphap Lane. Market is best for shopping for fruits and dry goods.

9) Balanna Plaza: Foot wares of brands like Nike,Converse,Vand and Campus are available on cheap price . It is located in Sampeng Lane.

10) Hua Seng Heng : The oldest and trusted Thai gold dealers are located on Yaowarat road. Here you can find gold ornaments upto 96.5% purity.

How to reach:

Bus: Cochin has a large network of buses that connect you to all major towns in Kerala. They are cheap and government-run.

Auto Rickshaw: Autos are available in most cities.They’re cheap, but they often tend to fleece tourists so make sure you ask for a rate card.

Ferry/Boat: Ferry is a great way to travel, especially in and around the Fort Cochin area.

Their warmth and wonderful service have made our stay unforgettable. Our flight landed early morning at 5 am in Dubai and We checkout from the airport and head towards our hotel. Our room was supposed to start from 3:00 pm so we decided to take early check-in on request if possible.

We reached at 6:15 am on 20th December in the hotel, the person I met at reception was Mr. Sadd. We requested for the early check-in if possible.Service was so quick, In next 10 mins, he gave us an upgraded room and early Check-in with the same price. Now we excitedly moved into our room and it was worth waiting.

We had a short nap to get refreshed from overnight flight journey. Then we went for the breakfast their we met with two girls ( sorry forgot her name) she gave us a complimentary breakfast with early check-in again we were surprised by their gesture. Breakfast was amazing and on the top mazing view from the breakfast area.

We stayed their for 2 full days and we absolutely loved every bit of it. It was our first to visit this hotel and i am sure we will visit again next time. Niki beach hotels & resorts very staff doing justice to their jobs with amazing hospitality skills. Do visit you would love it.
